The MAESTRO AI project presented to the AISTEM consortium
10-02-2025On January 30, 2025, Nektarios Moumoutzis from the Technical University of Crete presented the findings of an educational experiment done within the context of the MAESTRO AI project to members of the AISTEM consortium. This experiment explored the integration of ChatGPT into the programming laboratories of the introductory course “Introduction to Programming”, aiming to enhance students’ learning experiences. The presentation aimed at creating synergies between the two projects considering their complementarity: AISTEM targets upper secondary education to raise awareness of teachers and students regarding AI concepts and algorithms, and promote the use of AI tools to enhance teaching and learning. Maestro AI has similar objectives targeting tertiary education.
After the presentation of the experiment and the results documented via the questionnaire used, the members of the AISTEM team discussed in length ways to transfer the results presented in secondary education and possible best practices in preparing appropriate prompts for ChatGPT to be used for facilitating lessons in secondary education.
