Saying goodbye to our language teachers

18-06-2024

The end of this year’s Chinese language course organised by the Confucius Classroom at BUT is drawing near. The classes could not have taken place without the teachers, who worked hard to provide the best possible explanations of linguistic concepts to their students, as well as to answer all the questions they asked about Chinese culture.

We had the great pleasure of working with Chunyu Liu (刘春雨) and Xinlong Gao (高鑫隆), who have spent the last two years with us, and Weiwei Zheng (郑微微), who joined our team this semester. All three of them proved to be not only excellent language teachers, but also people who could always be relied upon, and who were always eager to share their knowledge of Chinese culture and customs.

Last Friday (the 14th of June), our Confucius Classroom’s team gathered for the final meeting of this academic year. Together with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Assoc. Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng., we summarised our achievements this year and discussed plans for the future.

It was with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to the teachers who, with the end of the 7th edition of our language course, are returning to China. However, we promised that we would definitely meet again in the future – perhaps as part of our Confucius Classroom activities.

We sincerely thank our teachers, without whose invaluable work we would not be able to carry out our language classes nor organise events that introduced our community to the most interesting aspects of Chinese culture.
