Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) is one of the leading universities of technology in Vietnam. With its history of 63 years, HCMUT has remained as the largest, the most prestigious and oldest engineering university in Southern Vietnam. The university plays an active role of cultivating talents and providing human resources with strong technical skills, which are recognized equivalent to those of other advanced countries in the Southeast Asia. HCMUT has become a brand name of innovation and excellency and always impresses its partner with employment rate listed among the highest in Vietnam. It is also regarded as the key centre of research excellence greatly contributing to teachnology transfer activities in Southern Vietnam.The university offers a wide range of training programs, including undergraduate programs (full-time, part-time engineers and second degree bachelor of engineering) and postgraduate level (master and doctoral programs). Totally, HCMUT has 1,163 staff and 26,278 students enrolled in 11 faculties mostly focusing on engineering, architecture and industrial management. Up to present, HCMUT has launched 15 international undergraduate programmes and 6 international master programmes which are fully taught in English. At global level, the University engages itself in international accreditation and successfully gets accredited by ABET, AUN-Q.A, HCERES… HCMUT has got 2 programs recognized by ABET, 7 by CTI, 1 by FIBAA, 1 by ACBSP/AMBA/IACBE and 13 by AUN.
With the educational philosophy to achieve “Liberal Art Education; Pioneering in quality, creativity and integration”, HCMUT has been taking all measures to develop its academic capacity, research capability, curriculum, instructional methodology and relevance of all study programs. The University is also working towards becoming an autonomous university carrying out following missions: (1) educating the intellectual resources with leadership competence; (2) creating new knowledge through scientific research and technological services; and (3) assuming and performing social responsibility and community services.
