Why \u201cpurchase\u201d when you can simply \u201cbuy\u201d?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>International Plain Language Day<\/strong> is celebrated every year on 13th October.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Plain language can be understood by the average person.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To improve communication:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>remember to keep sentences short;<\/li>\n<li>use familiar words and phrases;<\/li>\n<li>keep an eye on the main idea in each sentence;<\/li>\n<li>avoid unnecessary embellishments and impersonal forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Try to write official texts (e.g. applications) and technical texts (e.g. instruction manuals) as well as emails and announcements in a simple manner. This way you show your respect for the reader.
