{"id":18473,"date":"2021-12-30T20:34:51","date_gmt":"2021-12-30T19:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pb.edu.pl\/sjo\/warszawska-starowka\/"},"modified":"2023-02-06T12:54:18","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T11:54:18","slug":"warsaw-old-town","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pb.edu.pl\/sjo\/en\/learning-polish\/poland-and-poles\/warsaw-old-town\/","title":{"rendered":"Warsaw Old Town"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Amazing<\/h1>\n<h2><strong>Warsaw Old Town<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Did you know that the <strong>Warsaw Old Town<\/strong> is the only area in the world of the planned reconstruction of the entire historic urban district which experienced enormous damage during World War II, reaching 90% of the buildings?<\/p>\n<p>Since the city plans had also been destroyed by the Nazi occupiers during the war, a team of architects and art historians used among others, paintings by the Italian painter Canaletto to develop a design for the reconstruction of the city. Therefore, today&#8217;s Old Town looks the way it looked in the 18th century, and not the way it appeared just before the war.<\/p>\n<p>In 1980, the rebuilt Old Town was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the unique example of a complete reconstruction of the historic complex.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-18473 gallery-columns-4 gallery-size-medium'><figure
