We will explore how such partnerships foster innovation, create opportunities for research translation, and contribute to economic development, as well as the ethical and practical challenges that can arise along the way.
We gather esteemed panelist from Poland, Germany, Estonia to share with us their experience, show the potential:

Prof. Krzysztof Jan Kurzydłowski, world-renowned scientist, a pioneer in research on nanomaterials and the degradation of structural and functional materials, academic teacher, advocate of commercialization of scientific research results. Professor K.J. Kurzydłowski is a recognized scientific authority in Poland and abroad, for the next generations of scientists, the founder of scientific schools, an animator of the scientific community and the initiator of many groundbreaking research in the field of materials science and related disciplines. Prof. Kurzydlowski will talk about R&D activities at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Białystok University of Technology.

Dean of Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Anna Boczkowska, whose scientific interest is mostly related to the processing and study of polymers, composites and nanocomposites will show how the cooperation is realized in Warsaw during presentation Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering collaboration with the industry. She has industrial background of 20 years in the development and application of composite materials.

Our next panelist from Germany, Dr Albert Langkamp from ILK Technische Universität Dresden who since 2006 is a managing director of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Lightweight Structures and Materials and Robust Design at the TU Dresden will give a presentation entitled Bio-based high-performance materials for sustainable lightweight engineering.

Prof. Jüri Majak professor of Mechanics of Materials at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), has leaded several research projects, of which most remarkable is “Smart composites: design and manufacturing”. Thanks to Prof. Majak we will have opportunity to learn about Artificial Intelligence based modelling and design optimization of composite materials and structures.

The whole panel will be closed by two scientists from IKTS Fraunhofer, Dr Tassilo Moritz and Prof. Henning Heuer. Dr Moritz leader of the Dept. Processes/Components at IKTS Fraunhofer. He is chairman of the Expert Group “Ceramic Injection Molding” in the German Ceramic Society and chairman of the “User Group Ceramic Additive Manufacturing” in the same society. His specialized fields are Thermoplastic Shaping, Wet Shaping Technologies and Additive Manufacturing of ceramic components. Taking that into account his talk will be entitled Ceramic-based multi-material components by additive manufacturing. Prof. Heuer holds position of Professor for Sensor Systems for Nondestructive Testing at TU Dresden and in parallel director of the department of Sensors and Sensor Systems with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems-Materials Diagnostics (IKTS), Dresden. His main interest is the development and industrialization of nondestructive inspection techniques for new generations of materials and components. With his strong background in semiconductors and their packaging and assembly technologies, his team of 50 scientist and technicians developed new generation of eddy current and ultrasonic inspection systems for materials such as railway, lightweight, thins films and battery components. He is the co-Founder of Suragus GmbH a Fraunhofer Spin off for industrialization of EddyCus® instruments. During our conference he will talked about Advancements in Ultrasonics and Eddy Current testing – from nondestructive testing to nondestructive analytics for fiber reinforced composites.

During the last panel we will have a time to scrutinize the intricacies of science-industry collaboration,

[1

post-2153","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home
["GET
