Language classes for international students

Erasmus programme students who want to enroll on courses of English or Polish, please contact our coordinator:
Sylwia Dobkowska s.dobkowska [at] pb.edu.pl, who will help you choose an appropriate group.

English

Language courses offered by Foreign Language Centre are customized to the needs of students of different faculties, so most of our courses incorporate language material that matches the students’ professional requirements. There’s usually quite a lot of specialist vocabulary involved, even if the basic handbook is general English.

Polish

Courses of Polish are classes for beginners (A1 level). They focus on basics, communication and survival skills.

Assessment

To get a pass grade for classes at Foreign Language Centre, you have to get a certain number of points for your work. The system works as follows.

During the semester, the student may be awarded maximum 100 points:

  • 60 points for one or more tests. One test will include elements of reading and listening comprehension.
  • 40 points for different types of projects and assignments, including speaking tasks.

The final grade is calculated according to the number of points awarded during the whole semester.
