More than 50 pupils and teachers from the vocational school Robert-Bosch-Berufskolleg in Duisburg visited Bialystok University of Technology to see how engineers are educated in Podlasie. From virtual welding to advanced medical equipment \u2014 the guests from Germany explored the laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.<\/div>\n

The visit of 57 pupils and teachers from the vocational school Robert-Bosch-Berufskolleg (25 March 2026) was the result of a partnership with the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok University of Technology as part of the MINT<\/a> initiative, supported by the Polish-German Youth Office<\/a>Polish-German Youth Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The German guests began the day with a visit to the Marshal\u2019s Office of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, where they met Jacek Piorunek, Member of the Board of the Voivodeship. The guests learned that our region is not only the \u201cgreen lungs of Poland\u201d but also a dynamically developing technological hub.<\/p>\n

They experienced the vibrant academic atmosphere on the campus of Bialystok University of Technology. During an integration meeting with pupils from the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok University of Technology, they took part in quizzes on technology, sport and geography. The event proved that young people from both countries are on the same wavelength.<\/p>\n

After lunch, it was time for what Bialystok University of Technology does best \u2014 hands-on learning. Student scientific associations from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering invited the guests to a presentation of their projects and achievements. Then the delegation from Germany took part in workshops in specialist laboratories.<\/p>\n

Pupils from Duisburg could feel like students of Bialystok University of Technology, working with advanced equipment. The greatest interest was aroused by virtual welding \u2014 a technology enabling safe learning of the profession in the VR environment. Equally popular were the medical equipment stations and the electron microscope.<\/p>\n

\u2013 It is incredible how practical your approach to learning is. The projects of the student scientific associations we saw are world-class \u2013 said the participants of the delegation.
\nThe visit ended in the late afternoon. The German guests left the campus full of inspiration, and the organisers became confident that the partnership between the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok University of Technology and the school from Duisburg is only the beginning of a joint engineering adventure.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The partnership visit of pupils and teachers from the vocational school Robert-Bosch-Berufskolleg in Duisburg was organised by Artur Ku\u017amicz, MA \u2014 a teacher at the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok University of Technology. The success of the visit was possible thanks to the support and kindness of the Marshal\u2019s Office of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, in particular Jacek Piorunek \u2014 Member of the Board of the Voivodeship, Agnieszka Kami\u0144ska from the Department of Economic Promotion and International Cooperation, as well as Adam Bajkowski, PhD, Eng., Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology. Employees and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as well as the management and pupils of the Academic Secondary School of Bialystok University of Technology, also actively contributed to the preparations.<\/p>\n
