Bialystok University of Technology invited the academic community to celebrate Portuguese Day. Its aim was to present Portuguese universities, culture, language and cuisine of the Iberian Peninsula.<\/div>\n

Portugal offers many unique experiences \u2013 for example, a library of sardine cans. Assoc. Prof. Jolanta Piekut, DSc, PhD, Eng, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences<\/a> of Bialystok University of Technology, had the opportunity to visit it.<\/p>\n

\u2013 I bought one sardine can for my husband. He has not eaten it to this day, saying it is too precious \u2013 says Assoc. Prof. Jolanta Piekut. \u2013 The trip to Portugal allowed me to learn about its culture and traditions, gain new experiences and establish academic and teaching contacts \u2013 emphasises Assoc. Prof. Jolanta Piekut, DSc, PhD, Eng, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Portuguese Day at Bialystok University of Technology was held on 15 October 2025.<\/p>\n

\u2013 It\u2019s a really great initiative \u2013 says Gabriela Sawicka, a third-year management student at the Faculty of Engineering Management of Bialystok University of Technology<\/a>. \u2013 We can learn about new places and experiences, and at the same time find out what student life in Portugal is like.
\n\u2013 I spent a semester in Portugal and I was delighted \u2013 says Zuzanna Dzier\u017canowska, a third-year environmental engineering student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences of Bialystok University of Technology. \u2013 The country is full of fascinating places, and the cost of living is comparable to Poland \u2013 I recommend it to anyone considering going abroad! \u2013 adds Zuzanna.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Portugal is one of the first countries with which Bialystok University of Technology established very close cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We currently have 23 agreements with Portuguese universities, and under these arrangements, 50\u201370 students from Bialystok University of Technology go to Portugal each semester, with roughly the same number of students coming to us \u2013 emphasises Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology. \u2013 It is a beautiful country, full of history, marvellous nature, monuments and rich traditions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On the occasion of Portuguese Day, Bialystok University of Technology welcomed M\u00e1rio Rui dos Santos Miranda Duarte, Ambassador of Portugal to Poland.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Many educational initiatives are now underway between the two countries \u2013 said the Ambassador \u2013 from cooperation between higher education institutions to exchanges between secondary schools.
\nPortuguese Day at Bialystok University of Technology began at the Centre for Modern Education. Visitors could see the exhibition Discover Portugal with Erasmus+, inspired by the experiences of Bialystok University of Technology staff.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
