They exchanged best practices, delivered open lectures for students and staff, and discussed the development of academic mobility. A total of 52 representatives from 25 countries took part in the 14th edition of the Erasmus+ International Staff Week at Bialystok University of Technology.<\/div>\n

Under the name International Staff Week, Bialystok University of Technology organises international workshops twice a year for representatives of partner universities from around the world. The main aim is to strengthen international cooperation within the Erasmus+ Programme, intensify academic exchange, and create an open academic environment that fosters the free exchange of knowledge and good practices in scientific and educational projects.<\/p>\n

– I have been working as a researcher and academic teacher in the field of management and marketing for over 20 years, – said Dr Bal Ram Bhattarai from Pokhara University, Nepal. – I accepted the invitation from Bialystok University of Technology because I see it as an opportunity for interesting inter-university partnerships. It is obvious that we have different perspectives on various issues \u2013 whether in education or science. I hope for a meaningful exchange of experience, which I believe will enrich our work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The 14th edition of International Staff Week at Bialystok University of Technology welcomed university staff from around the globe: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Fiji, Georgia, Guatemala, Spain, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Lithuania, the Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nepal, South Africa, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Tunisia, T\u00fcrkiye, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

All participants showcased their institutions at the \u2018Cultural stand\u2019 \u2013 a mini fair of Bialystok University of Technology\u2019s partner universities that allowed attendees to feel like members of an international academic community.<\/p>\n

– I\u2019m pleasantly surprised by the wonderful international atmosphere of this meeting. I met people from all over the world here in Bialystok! – emphasised Josefa Zandamela from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. – It\u2019s been an enriching experience. I work in university administration, and I\u2019m very interested in how the Polish education system operates \u2013 admissions, student services. We don\u2019t have many international students at our university yet, but we are currently preparing to host a group from the Netherlands. Maybe I can convince researchers or students from Bialystok to come to Mozambique? I certainly hope so.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Participants of International Staff Week also delivered open lectures for students and staff of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p>\n

– At my university, I teach mathematical statistics and its applications in construction and civil engineering, – said Prof. Carles Serrat Pi\u00e8 from Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. – I\u2019ve had good contacts with staff from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at Bialystok University of Technology, but this is my first visit to Bialystok. I\u2019m glad to be here \u2013 it\u2019s an opportunity to deepen our cooperation and meet new partners. When we get to know each other in person, it becomes much easier to collaborate remotely, for example, on joint publications. I would also like to extend an invitation to visit our university in Barcelona.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bialystok University of Technology is actively developing international cooperation within the Erasmus+ Programme. A key element of the university\u2019s internationalisation strategy is also its participation in the prestigious European University project \u2013 ACROSS. The University is a member of a consortium of nine European universities connected by a long-term strategy in education and the promotion of European values.<\/p>\n
