Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng., Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, visited the construction laboratory of Chemnitz University of Technology (TU Chemnitz).<\/p>\n

TU Chemnitz \u2013 a Centre for Innovation in Civil Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n

The construction laboratory at TU Chemnitz is a research hub for modern construction materials and innovative building methods. Key areas of work include research on lightweight structures based on fibre-reinforced concrete, the development of 3D printing with cement-based materials, and the testing of non-metallic reinforcements such as carbon and glass fibres.<\/p>\n

– This laboratory is an excellent place for research on lightweight structures. Non-metallic reinforcements, including carbon and glass fibres, enable the creation of structures with reduced cross-sections and low mass, which is of great significance in modern construction,<\/em> – emphasised Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Modern Materials and Construction Technologies \u2013 Areas of Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The visitors also had the opportunity to see 3D printing robots that allow for the precise manufacturing of construction elements from concrete and geopolymers.<\/p>\n

– This is a very interesting solution that could revolutionise the way construction projects are designed and executed. At our university, additive techniques are already being developed, although not in the field of cement-based composites. We aim to change that,<\/em> – added the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p>\n

Benefits for Bialystok University of Technology and the Future of Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The visit to the TU Chemnitz laboratory marks the first step in establishing research cooperation between the two universities. Thanks to the Across European University, students, PhD candidates, and researchers from Bialystok University of Technology will have the opportunity to undertake internships and research projects in the laboratories of partner institutions within the alliance.<\/p>\n

– Across includes numerous scientific internships and academic mobility programmes. Our cooperation can bring tangible benefits both for students and researchers, who will gain access to the most advanced technologies,<\/em> – highlighted Prof. Kosior-Kazberuk.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Bialystok University of Technology invites researchers from Chemnitz and other partner universities to visit its own laboratories.<\/p>\n

– We have well-equipped laboratories that can serve research teams from across Europe. We hope that cooperation between our universities will develop dynamically,<\/em> – summarised the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p>\n

The visit was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Development, Assoc. Prof. Miros\u0142aw \u015awiercz, Dsc, PhD, Eng., and the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Marek Kr\u0119towski, DSc, PhD, Eng. The meeting took place as part of the inauguration of the Across European University, led by TU Chemnitz.<\/p>\n

Chemnitz University of Technology (TU Chemnitz) is one of Germany’s leading academic centres, renowned for innovative research and modern infrastructure. The university conducts numerous interdisciplinary research projects and collaborates with top scientific institutions across Europe.<\/p>\n

The staff mobility was funded through the \u201cAcross \u2013 Transborder European University\u201d project.<\/p>\n

The project itself is financed by the European Union through the European Social Development Fund 2021-2027 (FERS) as part of the NAWA program, \u201cSupport for European University Alliances,\u201d under project number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0219\/23.<\/p>\n
