The success was achieved by 30 students from the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science, along with their supervisors.<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>On the evening of 1 September 2024, the results of the Formula Student Poland 2024 competition were announced. The Cerber Motorsport team from Bialystok University of Technology claimed first place in the overall classification for combustion and hybrid-powered vehicles. Their CMS-09 hybrid car dominated all dynamic categories.<\/p>\n<p>In the dynamic competitions at the Autodrom S\u0142omczyn circuit, the cars had to complete:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an acceleration test over a 75-meter stretch (Acceleration), <\/li>\n<li>a stability test on an eight-shaped track (Skidpad), <\/li>\n<li>a timed lap from the start to finish line (Autocross), <\/li>\n<li>a 22-kilometer endurance race, testing both durability and efficiency (Endurance), <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>as well as consuming as little fuel as possible in all dynamic competitions (Efficiency).<\/p>\n<p>The CMS-09 hybrid car was the fastest and most efficient in all these categories, leading the Cerber Motorsport team to victory in the overall standings of Formula Student Poland 2024 in the combustion and hybrid car category. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; We&#8217;re very happy to end our winning streak in Poland, &#8211;<\/em> said Bartosz Si\u0142kowski, a mechatronics student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the team coordinator of Cerber Motorsport. <em>\u2013 This victory crowns our two years of work on the CMS-09 hybrid car.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The students from Bialystok University of Technology felt at home at the Autodrom S\u0142omczyn circuit, where the competition took place. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; In the Endurance competition, each of our drivers had to cover 11 km, &#8211;<\/em> said Kacper Stasiewicz, the team&#8217;s technical coordinator, electronics department lead, one of the drivers, and a second-year Automation and Robotics student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; The CMS-09 car had excellent balance, we found the right setup, the tires reached the optimal temperature window, and our pace was consistent throughout the race \u2013 we&#8217;re very pleased with that, \u2013<\/em> added Piotr Cywoniuk, a second-year student of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to their driving technique and the car\u2019s design, the students were unbeatable in the Efficiency competition.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; The Efficiency check, which measures how much fuel we used, contributes to the overall score, \u2013<\/em> explained Stasiewicz. <em>&#8211; It checks how good our time was in relation to the amount of fuel we consumed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This success is the result of the hard work of the entire student team.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Over the past year, we\u2019ve been designing and building our latest CMS-09 car, &#8211;<\/em> recalled Bartosz Wiszowaty, a third-semester mechatronics student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. <em>&#8211; It gave us a lot of challenges, but everything has worked out so far.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Cerber Motorsport team is part of the Auto-Moto-Club student scientific association, which operates under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Being in the club, I\u2019ve learned so much about Formula Student, about cars, and I\u2019ve met wonderful people with whom we compete in races, \u2013<\/em> said Wiszowaty. <em> &#8211; I feel fulfilled being in this club.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kamil Kymona, a fifth-semester Mechanical Engineering student, echoed this sentiment.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Working in the scientific association on a car like this offers many development opportunities. Even though it\u2019s not an easy task, in many cases you need to invest a lot of time to make such a project come to life, \u2013<\/em> added Kymona. <em>-Participating in Formula Student Poland is a great honour, and we highly recommend that everyone try it for themselves.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The students\u2019 work is supervised by lecturers \u2013 Piotr Tarasiuk, PhD and Jaros\u0142aw Czaban, PhD from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. \u201cWe\u2019ve just wrapped up a season full of success,\u201d said Dr. Czaban.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; We took first place in the dynamic competitions and in the overall classification at Formula Student Poland 2024. I want to emphasize that this is our second participation in this event in Poland, and in 2023 we also finished first overall, so this year we were the favourites.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth noting that the CMS-09 hybrid car has been achieving greater success throughout the 2024 season.<\/p>\n<p>The debut of the CMS-09 on Austria\u2019s Red Bull Ring in Spielberg brought the team three podium finishes, including in the most demanding dynamic competition, Endurance. <\/p>\n<p>Students from the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science unveiled the hybrid-powered vehicle, which earned top marks in several dynamic categories: 2nd place in Acceleration and Endurance, and 3rd place in Skidpad.<br \/>\nAt the next competition, held on a Hungarian racing circuit, the student team earned top scores in events where acceleration and grip were key. Competing at Formula Student East, the students secured 1st place in Skidpad and 1st place in Acceleration. <\/p>\n<p>The Cerber Motorsport team from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering also won the Formula Student Czech Republic event, held from 5 to 10 August 2024. Nearly 50 teams from around the world took part in the international competition at the Czech racing circuit, representing their universities as designers, constructors, implementers, and drivers of racing cars. The team from Bialystok University of Technology was unbeatable this year! Their participation led to victories in three dynamic events and in the overall classification with their CMS-09 vehicle. They also earned an additional award for completing the technical inspection in the shortest time.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen teams participated in Formula Student Poland 2024 \u2013 six teams from Poland and eight international teams.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; We&#8217;re returning to Bialystok University of Technology and getting started on building the next car, \u2013<\/em> announced Bartosz Si\u0142kowski. Thanks to the testing opportunities at Bialystok Circuit, the students continuously refine their designs, improving them in every detail.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2013 The experience gained by the Cerber Motorsport team will have a positive impact on our next hybrid car, \u2013<\/em> declared Stasiewicz. <em>\u2013 We\u2019ll be using an electric drive in the front and a combustion engine in the back.
