Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education visiting Bialystok University of Technology!

Wojciech Murdzek – Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for monitoring the implementation of the reform on functioning of Research Institutes in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education paid a visit to Bialystok University of Technology on 19 November 2021. The meeting of an official nature was aimed at learning about the potential of the largest technical University in north-eastern Poland.

The Vice-Minister met with the authorities of the University on 19 November 2021 and discussed the possibilities of developing the knowledge and technology capital of Bialystok University of Technology, which educates specialists for the needs of Industry 4.0 on a regional, but also on a national scale. Bialystok University of Technology, which is the leader of the project “Smart Education for Industry 4.0,” is preparing to implement an educational programme based on the needs of innovative enterprises.
– We discussed the issues of cooperation with the socio-economic environment, cross-border cooperation and, above all, cooperation with other universities from Podlasie and technical universities from Poland – emphasised Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology. – Joint activities with the Medical University of Bialystok and the University of Bialystok were an important topic.

The Vice-Minister was also acquainted with projects carried out by student research circles and their practical application. The Vice-Minister’s interest was aroused, for example, by alternative carpentry materials for the furniture industry, developed by the ROLKA Research Circle from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences.
– I am fascinated by the activities of student circles and the fact that they took advantage of the ministerial project “Students’ research circles create innovations”. I wish them to be a real driving force of the University and the economy. The equipment and a number of achievements – all that is impressive,” said Wojciech Murdzek – Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for monitoring the implementation of the reform on functioning of Research Institutes in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
An important part of the Vice-Minister’s visit was a tour around the University’s faculties and getting to know the unique equipment of specialist laboratories, including the Smart Education 4.0 Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology, where he could learn about the possibilities of practical education in cooperation with the economic environment.
– The Ministry declared its support for programmes aimed at development of the University, especially those educating engineering staff – Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology summed up the official meeting at the University.
