Jan Bie\u0144<\/strong> is Professor at Faculty of Civil Engineering of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST). His research interests include computer methods in modelling and analysis of bridge structures, including structures with defect, diagnostics and monitoring of bridge structures and bridge management systems with expert tools using elements of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

Designer of the computer systems supporting bridge management: SMOK for railway administration and SZOK, URBI, ROBIN for road administration in Poland Member of over 20 national and international research and technical organizations, incl.: IABSE (chairman of the Polish Group), International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS), American Society of Civil Engineers (USA), Transportation Research Board (USA), expert of the European Union (Directorate-General for Research and Innovation), Scientific Secretary of the Civil Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences Chairman of the research teams in many national and international projects.<\/p>\n

Author of over 290 research papers, including 10 books, in the field of Bridge Engineering, Expert Systems, Diagnostic Technologies, Knowledge-Based Bridge Management Systems as well as author of over 340 research reports.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mar\u00eda Aurora Fl\u00f3rez de la Colina<\/strong> holds a degree in Architecture and a PhD from Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid (1995, UPM, Spain). She is a P.T.U. professor in the Building Technology Department at UPM and she has been Spanish co-coordinator of GLOCAL European Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She has been a practicing architect with more than 30-year experience in Building Construction, Architecture and Urban Planning, working for private clients, Spanish public administrations or for companies such as Dragados y Construcciones S.A. Other activities include research in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH-Civil Engineering) in Greece or related with projects lead by the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ITAM) in Chequia. Her field of study is Architecture and Urbanism, focused on the execution of Technical Projects and the Management of Built Cultural Heritage. She is currently the convener of a course in Protected Heritage for postgraduate students, as well as Technical Projects courses for undergraduate students, related with the Spanish Building Construction Standards and Regulations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. ir. Agnieszka Bigaj-van Vliet<\/strong> is a Principal Scientist at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). She holds an MSc from Warsaw University of Technology and a PhD in civil engineering from Delft University of Technology. With over 25 years of experience, her work focuses on the structural assessment and life extension of concrete infrastructure, circular construction, and climate-resilient design.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bigaj-van Vliet serves as Deputy President of the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) and heads the Dutch National Delegation to fib. She is Convener of fib Task Groups TG10.2 “Model Code Updating” and TG SAG.2 “Sustainable Concrete Structures”. She is also an active member of ACI and RILEM committees. She leads numerous national and European innovation projects and actively bridges research with high end consultancy, standardization and policy development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
