On 4 May, a delegation from the Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) from China visited Bialystok University of Technology. Prof. Li Zhongxian, TCU President, together with the Deans of the Faculties of e.g. Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Energy Economics of TCU, had a meeting with Prof. Lech Dzienis, BUT Rector, and Associate Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation.

The visitors from TCU also talked to students from Tianjin, studying Civil Engineering at our University since February. Later they visited the INNO-EKO-TECH – Innovative Research and Education Centre for Alternative Energy Sources, Energy-efficient Construction and Environmental Protection of Bialystok University of Technology, with its 36 modern laboratories and nearly 700 research stands.

On 5 May, an agreement on establishing a joint educational venture – the Sino-Polish School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University – of Bialystok University of Technology (Poland), Cracow University of Technology (Poland), and Tianjin Chengjian University (China) was signed in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Warsaw.

Under this agreement, BUT teachers are going to China to teach students studying Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, while teachers from Cracow University of Technology – students studying Architecture and Landscape Architecture (at undergraduate and graduate levels). The SPSE will aim mainly at Chinese citizens; its students will pay tuition fees and obtain double degrees.
